Ten-year-old Ellie Marie Prestwick was never afraid of the dark—until it came alive. Something happened one cool summer’s night as she lay in her bed, something new, something utterly terrifying. She heard footsteps, she heard voices—she heard ghosts. Two menacing spirits emerged from the darkness: a man in black and a woman in white. But they were only part of the terror, only a piece of the evil that was Prestwick Manor.

It was once hailed as the greatest construction in all of America. But even the greatest achievements are mired with evil deeds, even the brightest lights leave shades of darkness. Prestwick Manor was no exception. It held secrets of its own, dark secrets about the past, the present, and the future.

To save herself from unspeakable evil, Ellie must uncover secrets that have been buried for over two centuries. She has only her father, Charles Prestwick, a once famous writer still grieving over the death of his wife, and his literary agent, Emily Wilson, a sad woman still haunted by the horrors of her own childhood. With their help, Ellie searches for the answers hidden around her, all the while moving toward a conclusion no one could have foreseen.

Recommended Books of 2004-2006

This is a very good book and I highly recommend it.

Who says nothing exciting happens in a small town?
Star City, Fla. gets more excitement than it can handle when America's pop princess shows up to perform at its annual festival.
She's the target of an extortion plot, and the action heats up when two star-crossed lovers, a pair of bumbling gangsters and a canine kelptomaniac get involved.
Before it's over, Star City really rocks!

I will be selling Star City in  a few weeks on EBay.

I personally liked this book and the author added his personal experiences to the story.

This book is based on REAL people, places and bizarre events in a small town in west central Florida.
The weave of this NATIONALLY-REPORTED story begins as an up-and-coming restaurant manager, who wears a hideous scar, is being rushed to a mental health facility in a state of P.T.S.D. panic. After being locked into the "dark side", he reflects back to a much happier time when he started a new life and sparked a forbidden fling in the curious little town.
The pages then reveal a shocking and itriguing plot involving a desperately driven stage mom and her mysterious daughter, the anything but routine operation of a FATALLY peculiar restaurant, THREE premonitions and the SUPERNATURAL, a small town police chief's humiliating fight, and of course, a little SUGAR.

Texas Road kill is a very interesting book. The author knows what he is talking about.

Detective Richard Akers is assigned to investigate a series of mysterious nighttime pranks in the small ranching community of Bacon Banks, Texas. He soon connects the seemingly innocuous pranks to an old unsolved hit-and-run case that killed 12-year-old Arnold Edwards six years earlier. Detective Akers enlists the help of high school biology teacher Brenda Shaw and taxidermist Buck Crandel to assist in the investigation. Akers criss-crosses Texas and finally uncovers surprising details.
